Performance Measures for Environmental Compliance Programs
Environmental compliance and enforcement indicators are instruments that measure results achieved by environmental compliance and enforcement programs. This information helps decision-makers to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of those programs. INECE works with governments to develop programs to implement performance measures for environmental compliance and enforcement programs.
INECE’s Guidance Manual, Performance Measurement Guidance for Compliance and Enforcement Practitioners, provides environmental compliance and enforcement practitioners advise for identifying, implementing and using ECE indicators. The document was written to be useful to countries considering whether to develop indicators, those in the early or mid-term stages of an indicators effort, and those already using indicators to report to the public and make program management decisions.
